WIND RIDGE – The 2013 Miss Jacktown Fair Princess Pageant has three contestants.

Each girl had to submit a poster advertising an event at the fair and an illustrated drawing, model a sundress with a short introduction and complete a three-minute interview session. The new princess will be crowned July 16 by the 2012 Jacktown Fair Princess at the end of the pageant.

Candidates are:

• Olivia Gorby, 9, daughter of Melissa Gorby of New Freeport. Olivia plays basketball and enjoys swimming, loves animals and painting.

• Krysten Debolt, 9, daughter of Richard and Amanda DeBolt of New Freeport. Krysten is a fourth-year member of the New Freeport Baseball Team. She is a straight “A” student at Springhill-Freeport Elementary where she received a gold medal on the PSSA tests. She has received a 100 percent or higher on every spelling test. She hopes to become a cheerleader. Krysten loves animals, four-wheeler riding and spending time with her family and friends.

• Emily Cooke, 10, daughter of Katie Cooke of Holbrook. Emily is a member of the 4-H market goat and 4-H market swine clubs, plays softball and is a girl scout. Emily enjoys showing her animals the fairs.

• Morgan Mooney, daughter of Ryan and Greta Mooney of Graysville, is the current Miss Jacktown Fair Princess. Morgan will be a fifth-grader at Graysville Elementary next year. She is a member of the 4-H Horse and Pony Club, showing her quarter horse, Rose. Morgan enjoys competing in barrels, poles, down and back and keyhole. Morgan is also a member of the Junior Girls Scout Troop 53596. She enjoys painting, drawing and swimming.

When Morgan was asked what was the best part about being the 2012 Jacktown Fair Princess she said, “Riding in the parades, definitely!” Morgan said being the first Jacktown Fair Princess was an honor. Her favorite parts of the Jacktown Fair are spending time with her friends on the rides, visiting the barns and having a fresh funnel cake every night.
