• Action: Council voted unanimously to approve a motion to authorize the construction of a new roof for the road department building. The board accepted a bid by contractor Timothy Ramacker at a price of $4,900 for labor on the project. The borough will purchase $4,714 worth of materials for the new roof separately.
Council members also approved the purchase of 10 new stop signs at a cost of about $100 each.
Also OK’d was $3,201 in additional costs for the Lower Center Avenue paving project. Councilman Jim Reedy said the additional funds were needed to fix a sinking spot in the road. The money will come out of the general fund.
A motion to give the borough engineer, Cheryl Price of Mackin Engineering, a raise of 13 cents an hour was approved.
