Two face drug charges in Monessen heroin sting

2 min read

Two Washington County men were arrested last week in an undercover heroin sting in Monessen.

Monessen police apprehended Brenen Greer, 25, of Canonsburg, and Jesse McKita, 26, of Daisytown in an area known as “The Wall” about 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, shortly after one of them allegedly purchased a brick of heroin from a local dealer, court records show.

Police, working with an agent from the state attorney general’s office, said they followed a Toyota driven by McKita from a service station at Ninth Street and Donner Avenue to Knox Avenue and 10th Street, an area in the Westmoreland County city known as a place to arrange drug deals, the affidavit indicates.

Once there, a man approached the car and followed it on foot around the corner, where Greer got out. The Toyota returned to pick him up shortly before police summoned an officer in a marked vehicle, who pulled it over near Second Street and Schoonmaker Avenue, the record shows.

Police ordered McKita out of the car, and said they seized from him a hypodermic needle. An officer then approached Greer and asked him where the heroin had been placed.

Greer replied, “It’s in my shoe,” and pointed to his left foot, where police accused him of hiding 50 stamp bags of the drug inside a sock, the affidavit shows.

Greer later told police he uses the drug regularly and had just made the $275 purchase from a dealer known to him as Bill.

District Judge Joe Dalfonso remanded Greer, of 122 Maple St., to the Westmoreland County jail on $50,000 bond. McKita, of 72 Woodland Road, is free on $25,000 bond.
