Community events
Cornerstone Genealogical Society will meet at 7 p.m. today in the log courthouse on Greene Street, Waynesburg. Speaker will be Tim Hawfield, who will talk about Greene County ties to the Civil War. The public is invited.
The Clarksville Area Volunteer Community Center, 524 East St., Clarksville, will have its semi-annual flea market and rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. Lunch and beverages will be available for eat in or take out. A bake sale will coincide with the event. Come early and get the best bargains and awesome baked goods for a good price. The Center is sponsored by the Clarksville Area Lions Club.
A square dance (also line dancing, polkas, cake walk and more) will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Rogersville Fire Hall. Caller will be Dave Dahl. Cost is $5 per person or $8 per couple. Food and drinks will be served beginning at 6:30. The event benefits the Center Township Volunteer Fire Department. For more information, call 724-499-5385.
Waynesburg High School Class of 1950 will meet at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Rohanna’s Restaurant.
Descendants of John Mack and Nancy Johnson Phillips will hold their 41st annual reunion July 20 in the lower level of building 10 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Dinner will be at noon with social hour continuing until 4 p.m. Each family is to bring a covered dish. Place settings and beverages will be provided.
