More than 4,600 still without power in Washington and Greene
About 4,600 West Penn Power company customers in Washington County and another 63 in Greene County remain without power late Thursday, after a strong storm with high winds Wednesday night brought down tree limbs on power lines. West Penn Power spokeswoman Rob Lombardo said crews are working to restore power, with the help of workers from other FirstEnergy companies.
Among the areas with the largest outages are North Strabane, Somerset, Canton, Amwell and Nottingham townships.
Lombardo said some residences wouldn’t have their electricity restored until Friday evening.
