New business to open at Starpointe
The Washington County commissioners expect to approve the sale of property in the Starpointe Business Park, Hanover Township, to Lifting Gear Hire, an Illinois-based firm that bills itself as the United States’ largest organization devoted exclusively to the rental, sale and service of lifting, winching and material handling equipment.
Sally Flinn, a principal in Fourth River Development, which is marketing Starpointe properties, presented a sales agreement with LGH of Bridgeview, Ill., to the Washington County commissioners Wednesday at their agenda meeting.
The sale price is $188,500 for the 3.1 acres with usable acreage expected to 2.9 acres.
The company will be opening within 10 to 12 months in Lot 11 in the first phase of Starpointe. It will initially have a 25,000-square-foot building with the ability to add another 15,000 square feet.
Lifting Gear Hire also plans a “minimal” storage yard at the rear of the building.
It expects to begin construction as soon as it receives permits. LGH expects to create eight to 10 jobs at the site over the next three years with additional employees based in Starpointe to serve the tri-county area.
The company has 16 locations in the U.S. supported by more than 30 rental representatives nationwide.
LGH provides for rent or sale hoisting, pulling, jacking and rigging equipment.
