1 killed, 1 wounded in Ohio shootings

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Police are investigating the shooting of two men in Columbus, one of whom has died.

Officers responding to a report of a shooting at a house about 1:25 p.m. Sunday found two wounded men, 22-year-old Quinten Ellis-John Prater and 21-year-old James E. Norvet III.

Prater was pronounced dead at the scene and Norvet was taken to a local hospital, where he is in critical condition.

Police said Prater’s death is the city’s 49th homicide this year.
