Police beat July 22
Harassment charge: Jeremy Smith of Waynesburg was charged Saturday by state police with harassment for allegedly threatening Gloria Patterson of Waynesburg by telephone while she was at 23 Grandview Drive, Franklin.
Chicken coop hit: Police said Victor Bell Jr., 45, of Canonsburg, was slightly injured Saturday morning when his pickup truck went off McDowell Lane and rolled over a hill into a chicken coop. North Strabane police said Bell was traveling west on McDowell about 10:42 a.m. when his vehicle spun around and rolled several times down an embankment into the building on the property of Joseph Armstrong, 283 McDowell. It was not clear if there were any birds in the building. Bell refused treatment for cuts and lacerations.
DUI charge: Brian S. Uram, 46, of 346 Beacon Ave., Canton, was charged by South Strabane police with driving under the influence of alcohol and having no license plate or insurance after police spotted him July 10 driving in Strabane Square with no license plate on his vehicle. The charges will be filed this week at the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Two charged: Rebecca M. Chubb, 30, and Nicholas R. Chubb, 32, both of Amity, each were charged by state police with harassment stemming from an incident early Friday at 227 Dutch Glory Road, West Bethlehem, police said.
