Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges. Appearing before Judge Gary Gilman was:

Theodore J. Carpenter, 46, of 811 Washington Ave., Charleroi; two counts of possession of a controlled substance; charged Feb. 31 after police found defendant to be drunk walking on Washington Avenue, Charleroi, and found crack cocaine and marijuana on his person; sentence – 2 to 12 months in jail followed by the Intensive Probation Program, 50 hours of community service.

Appearing before Judge John DiSalle were:

Illes B. Williams, 33, of 401 E. Oliver St., Bridgeport, W.Va.; driving under the influence of alcohol; charged Nov. 10 with a blood-alcohol content of 0.143 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 6 months in jail, 6 months of probation.

Robert Vanpool, 45, of 177 Main St., New Eagle; retail theft; charged Oct. 12 for stealing a bottle of rum from the Pennsylvania State Liquor Store, Wine and Spirits Shoppe, 234 W. Main St., Monongahela; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Daniel B. Bane, 40, of 267 Linton Road, Fredericktown; retail theft, driving with a suspended license; charged Feb. 4 after putting $135 worth of gas in his trunk at the Get-Go Foodmart, Centerville, then driving away without paying and also driving with a suspended license at the time of the event; sentence – $500 fine, $135 restitution to Get-Go, fingerprinted within 30 days of release from jail.

Mathew J. Davis, 25, of 728 Stewart St., Berlin; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged March 10, 2012, following a disabled motorist assistance at Toll 43 southbound, Carroll Township, where the defendant was found to have outstanding warrants from PSP Uniontown, and had a glass pipe and marijuana in the vehicle; sentence – 12 months of probation.

Paul A. Rusnak Jr., 30, of 23 Applewood Drive, New Eagle; retail theft; charged Oct. 23 for stealing 2 bottles of soda and several candy bars from the Seven-Eleven Gas Station at 468 Main St., New Eagle; sentence – 18 months of probation, restitution to Seven-Eleven, banned from Seven-Eleven.

Lloyd K. Amos, 51, of 480 Bentleyville Road, Bentleyville; DUI; charged May 28, 2011, following a traffic stop on Bentleyville Road; sentence – 72 hours to 6 months in jail, $1,000 fine, 12-month license suspension.

Appearing before Judge Katherine Emery was:

Jamie N. Gerecke, 24, of 132 Smithfield St., Canonsburg; two second offense of DUIs, driving with a suspended license; charged June 6 following a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Interstate 79 and Weavertown Road, while huffing canned air and Nov. 11 following a hit-and-run at Walmart, Trinity Point, then wrecking into a tree on Route 19 near Mansfield Road; sentence – 9 to 23 months in jail with intensive outpatient program at Wesley Spectrum and to attend the CARE Center, $3,500 fine, 36-month license suspension.
