Court cases
Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges. Appearing before Judge Katherine Emery were:
Ryan Wallace, 25, of 262 E. Hallam Ave., Washington; habitual offender, driving with a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a small amount of marijuana, receiving stolen property, carrying a firearm without a license; charged July 14 following a traffic stop in the 200 block of Duncan Ave., Washington, with a suspended license and possessing a small amount of marijuana, and charged Nov. 8, following a traffic stop on 130 Highland Ave., Washington, while driving a vehicle with an expired registration, carrying a stolen firearm without a permit and finding illegal drugs on his person, and charged Jan. 10 following a traffic stop in the 300 block of North Franklin St., Washington, for driving with a suspended license, and charged March 6 for possessing marijuana and a scale in his bedroom while police were serving a bench warrant; sentence – 11 1/2 to 23 months in jail with work release and community service granted followed by 12 months of probation, return gun to owner, $200 fine.
Dwayne M. Grogan, 46, of 34 Columbus Drive, Monessen; possession of a controlled substance; charged March 28 at 711 Washington Ave., Charleroi, when police found the defendant fighting with another male on the front porch room and found two stamp bags of heroin on him; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Charles A. Neihaus, 43, of 809 Fallowfield Ave., Apt. 1, Charleroi; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged April 7 at 809 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, when police were called for a possible overdose and several empty stamp bags of heroin in his home; placed in the Probation Without Verdice Program for 12 months.
