113 to graduate from Burgettstown High School
Burgettstown High School will graduate 113 seniors during its commencement beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Niagara Pavilion.
Speakers will be Aidan Walsh, valedictorian, and Corrina Tender, salutatorian.
The honor graduates are Luke Bennett, John Dugas, Kurt Kowalski, Nicole Loncaric, Nico Marcucci, Colin Sabatasse, Jonathon Sabo and Scott Ward.
Walsh is a son of Paul and Teresa Walsh of Burgettstown. He plans to study business, but is undecided in his school choice.
He is class president, student council vice president, student representative to the school board, and a member of the National Honor Society and Academic Games. He was also the team captain of Hometown High-Q. He is employed at Andy’s Candies.
Tender is a daughter of Thomas and Deana Tender of Atlasburg. She will attend Carnegie Mellon University, Mellon College of Science and study biomedical engineering.
She received the Gold Presidential Award her junior and senior years and is a member of the Asian culture club and physics club. She is a member of the National Honor Society, the gifted program, and is a staff writer for the Observer-Reporter’s Flipside. She volunteers at the elementary and high school libraries and the historical society.
Bennett is a son of Jim and Amy Bennett of Burgettstown. He will attend the University of Pittsburgh and study physical therapy.
Dugas is son of Dave and Stacy Dugas of Slovan. He will study sports medicine at either Duke University or Penn State University.
Kowalski is a son of Blase and Julie Kowalski of Bulger. He will study engineering at either Penn State University or West Virginia University.
Loncaric is a daughter of Thomas and Michele Loncaric of Burgettstown. She will attend Otterbein University and study business.
Marcucci is a son of Paul and Amy Marcucci of Burgettstown. He will attend West Virginia University and study computer engineering.
Sabatasse is a son of Vince and Robin Sabatasse of Burgettstown. He will attend Robert Morris University and study mechanical engineering.
Sabo is a son of Daniel and Janet Sabo of Burgettstown. He will attend the University of Pittsburgh and study pre-medicine.
Ward is son of Kelly and Cherie Ward of Burgettstown. He will study business at either LaRoche College or Duquesne University.
