Bentworth H.S. to graduate 90
Bentworth High School will graduate 90 seniors during commencement beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the high school gymnasium.
Erin Ritzer is valedictorian, and Kelsee Cox is salutatorian.
Ritzer is a daughter of Ed and Linda Ritzer of Scenery Hill. She will attend Robert Morris University to study biomedical and mechanical engineering and will be a member of the women’s soccer team.
She received the RMU Presidential and Honors scholarships, the Tri-County Athletic Directors Scholar-Athlete, Academic League and Olivia Scott Foundation scholarships, the Spirit of Alex Award and the U.S. Army National Scholar-Athlete Award.
Ritzer was a National Merit Commended Student, president of National Honor Society and participated in Westinghouse Science Honors Institute, Future Business Leaders of America and Academic League. She was a member of the prom and homecoming courts. She was captain of the soccer team and was named to the all-WPIAL and all-section teams, and was a member of the basketball and track teams and the marching, concert and jazz bands. She is employed at Gap at Tanger Outlets.
Cox is a daughter of David and Julie Bailey of Cokeburg. She will attend Duquesne University and study pre-medicine.
She received the Zonta Club, Duquesne Academic Merit, Nike Maxim and Leo Club Gold awards.
She also was a member of National Honor Society and participated in the Westinghouse Science Honors Institute, FBLA, Leo Club, Student Council, Senior Council and was editor of the yearbook. She is employed at the Nike Factory Store at Tanger Outlets.
