MAGIC plans soccer camp at Carmichaels high school field
WAYNESBURG – Family Stability Community Team, in collaboration with the Safe Communities Team of MAGIC, will hold the MAGIC Goals Soccer Camp from 9 to 11 a.m. June 11, 14, 18 and June 21.
This free camp is for ages 6 to 16 and will be held at the Carmichaels Area High School soccer field.
The goal of the camp not only teaches and enhances soccer skills, but encourages team building and leadership skills, as well as promoting self-esteem among youth.
The camp provides a positive alternative activity for the summer months. Each day of the camp will feature a speaker to educate the participants about healthy behavior choices, such as nutrition and tobacco prevention.
MAGIC Goals is a collaborative effort with support from the Greene County commissioners, community volunteers and agencies such as Greene County Human Services, Value Behavioral Health, Greene County Probation, Greene County MAGIC Collaborative, Greene County Tobacco Control Program, Greene County Early Intervention Program, Greene County Children and Youth Services, Greene County Drug and Alcohol Program and Greene County Child Care Information Services.
The MAGIC collaborative is composed of a steering committee and community teams. The purpose of the collaborative is to create an integrated, coordinated community/family based service delivery system to meet the health, education and community needs of Greene County residents.
