District judges recertified
District Judges Gary Havelka and Jay Weller were again recertified for service as members of the Pennsylvania Unified Judicial System after successfully completing continuing legal education course work.
The week-long program ensures that district judges remain current in a variety of legal topics as well as management techniques required to fairly adjudicate cases and effective supervise their office.
Havelka hears cases involving Burgettstown and Midway boroughs and Smith, Jefferson and Hanover townships. Weller hears cases involving North and South Strabane townships.
