Pa. Turnpike reopens in Harrisburg after crash

HARRISBURG (AP) – A five-mile stretch of the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Harrisburg has been reopened following a crash involving a wrong-way driver.

Officials closed all westbound lanes between mile markers 242 and 247 around 9:15 a.m. Sunday after a three-vehicle collision. All lanes were reopened about five hours later.

State police tell PennLive.com that the accident occurred when a car traveled eastbound on the westbound side of a bridge over the Susquehanna River.

The car collided with a tractor-trailer, which was then hit by another vehicle.

Police say one person has been critically injured and two other have been taken to a hospital.
