1 min read

Two people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash at 7:35 p.m. Saturday on Route 221, just south of Kennel Road, state police said.

John Hyatt, 30, of Vestaburg, and Matthew G. Brumley, 54, of Waynesburg, were both flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Hyatt was in good condition Monday. No condition report was available for Brumley.

Police said Brumley was entering Route 221 from a gravel parking lot just south of Kennel Road when his vehicle collided with Hyatt’s vehicle, which was traveling south on Route 221 at a high rate of speed. Upon impact, Brumley’s vehicle became airborne and overturned onto its side.

Hyatt had an upper leg and hip injury and Brumley suffered an upper chest injury, police said. Jefferson Volunteer Fire Co. assisted at the scene.
