1 min read

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Philadelphia police say a bicyclist is seriously injured after he was found impaled on a fence in Fairmount Park.

Authorities say police found the main around 2 a.m. Thursday when they received a call that led them to Martin Luther King Drive, a main thoroughfare. They say there was a dip in the road and that the man may have lost control and fell.

They found the man impaled on the pipe fence, which had pierced his chest. Medical crews had to cut part of the fence to free him.

He’s being treated at a hospital for chest injuries. His name hasn’t been released.
