• Action: Township supervisors voted unanimously to accept the resignation of police officer Antonino Balsamo. Board President Thomas Schilinski said Balsamo accepted a position with another department.

• Action: Joni Mansmann, director of business and finance, was awarded a $12,000 salary increase, which will raise her salary to $108,910 beginning in the 2013-14 school year. Mansmann completed her master’s degree in education at Wilkes University in May.
The board approved a $10,000 extra-work stipend for district accountant Jacky Hardiman, who handles federal programs.
The board approved the addition of a girls lacrosse team for the 2013-14 school year at no cost to the district.

• Action: Supervisors voted to change the way the street light tax is collected from a calculation based on property road frontage to a flat rate of $34. Supervisors Gary Stokum and Dean Casciola voted for the measure, while Evan Midler was against the change.

• Action: School directors approved a 2013-2014 budget of $10,435,478 that included a tax rate of 120.88 mills, representing no increase. Prices for school meals were set at $1.10 for breakfast and $2.10 for lunch, a 10-cent increase.

• Action: In separate motions, supervisors voted to purchase a visual alert server and related equipment for $2,400 as well as software up to $3,000. The combined package would help the police department create a new crime-fighting database.
Supervisors also voted to conditionally hire part-time road maintenance personnel and add six shifts per week through August. A 2013 John Deere 672G motor grader was approved for purchase from Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co. for $215,516.
All votes were unanimous, with Supervisor Jim Donohue absent.
