Philly DA, mayor were delinquent on gas bills

1 min read

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Philadelphia’s top prosecutor is joining the city’s mayor in saying he has been delinquent on a gas bill.

The Philadelphia Daily News reports court records show a lien was placed on the home of District Attorney Seth Williams in April 2012 because of an outstanding gas bill of $578.73. It was satisfied a month later.

Williams tells the newspaper he got behind on his gas bill and made arrangements to catch up.

The news comes as Mayor Michael Nutter says he “made a mistake” on an outstanding gas bill that resulted in a lien being placed against his home last month. Court records show Philadelphia Gas Works initiated the lien on Nutter’s home because he owed about $500 for past gas bills. The bill was later paid and the matter was settled.
