Washington County commissioners
• Date: June 20
• Action: Walkers and bikers using the Panhandle Trail in McDonald near the covered bridge will be using a detour for a few days while a sewer line is constructed. The county’s gas lease funds will be used to resurface nearly 8 1/2 miles of the trail from Primrose to Burgettstown.
The board approved a $505,200 agreement with Children and Youth Services to foot the bill for offenders in juvenile court who are part of the Leadership Enhanced Attitude Development Educational Rehabilitation program. They also OK’d an agreement not to exceed $18,240 for CYS and Intermediate Unit I to provide education through the LEADER program. Both agreements last through June 30, 2014.
The board approved an agreement with Digital Assurance Certification to provide required disclosures related to current and future county bond issues at a cost of $2,500 for set-up and $1,500 annually.
At the request of the health center, commissioners approved an agreement with Southwestern Pennsylvania Agency on Aging to be reimbursed for adult day care services at a full-day rate of $44.64 and a half-day rate of $28.40 from July 1 through June 30, 2014. No county funds are required.
At the request of jail administration, commissioners renewed the county’s agreement with the state District Attorneys Institute for the maintenance and continuation of the Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification program. The Pennsylvania Commission Against Crime and Delinquency is providing half the maintenance and service fees this year. The county’s share is $3,156.
