Job fair to be held Friday at Greene County Fairgrounds

People interested in finding a job or new career in the local energy industry are invited to attend the Tri-County Energy Employment Expo from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Greene County Fairgrounds.

The annual event is sponsored by the Tri-County Oil and Gas Committee in conjunction with the Pennsylvania CareerLink’s Greene County, Washington County, Fayette County and Mon Valley offices.

Thirty three businesses and schools are scheduled to participate in the fair this year, said Barbara Cole, administrator of Pennsylvania CareerLink of Greene County.

These businesses are looking for a people with a variety of skills, she said. “We have job openings from professional to laborer. There is something for everyone,” she said.

Those seeking jobs will be able to talk to representatives of the various companies, leave resumes and apply for job openings. They should come prepare to talk to company representative with resumes in hand.

Pennsylvania CareerLink will have its mobile computer lab on site for those companies that require an online application. Staff will also be available from the four participating Pennsylvania CareerLinks to assist job seekers in their search for employment.

Companies seeking new employees can still register for the fair. There is no charge either for companies seeking employees or people seeking work.

Refreshments will be available for purchase from Grub on the Run and the Center Township Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary. More information can be found on the Tri-County Oil and Gas webpage.

Companies and organizations that have already registered to participate in the fair include Penn Commercial, Range Resources, Greene County Educational Center of Westmoreland County Community College, Shaft Drillers International, Tradesmen International, Lois Dillie Enterprises, Caterpiller, Zone Environmental, Greene ARC, Southwest Training Services Inc., Weavertown Environmental, Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, Career Development Center, Drill Baby Drill, Highway Equipment Company, Halliburton Energy Service, Force Incorporated, Valley National Security Services LLC, Douglas Education Center, 4057 Creative, Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, GMS, Coyle Trucking, Cumberland Coal Resources, Emerald Coal Resources, Consol Energy, Blue Mountain Inc., Triangle Technical School, Senior Community Employment Service, G.E. Hitachi Nuclear Energy, Calfrac Well Services, Acquired Brain Injury Network of Pennsylvania, C&S Trucking and Ketchem Construction Company.
