Suspended jail guard to stand trial in assault

1 min read

A suspended Allegheny County Jail guard was ordered to stand trial Tuesday for allegedly striking a Washington woman with her vehicle earlier this year.

Erica Marie Williams, 24, of McDonald, was ordered held for court by District Judge Ethan Ward on charges of attempted manslaughter, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and criminal mischief.

Williams is accused of using her car to strike 19-year-old Jolene Anderson March 26 in the 900 block of Addison Street. Anderson suffered facial and other injuries when she was thrown on to the hood of the car before falling on to the road.

Court documents indicated that Williams allegedly tried to kill Anderson, who had reportedly ended a relationship with Williams.

Williams remains free on $100,000 bond.
