1 min read

Chartiers-Houston School Board last week adopted a budget for its 2013-14 school year that will increase school taxes by 2 mills, a $30 increase for the average homeowner in the district.

The largest expenditure within the $17.2 million budget was a $328,000 increase for pension costs, according to business manager Don Bennett.

Salary increases totaled about $220,000, and there was a 3.5 percent increase in the cost of transportation. Debt service payments and construction contributed to a $90,000 increase since last year.
