Man faces two sets of charges
A man with addresses in Washington and East Washington who was wanted on two sets of charges was taken into custody Wednesday after he was found by Washington County sheriff’s deputies at the Family Court Center.
David Yardell Ebron, 31, was wanted on charges filed by East Washington police and the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force.
East Washington police charged Ebron following a June 27 traffic stop. Ebron was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a violation on North Avenue. Police could see Ebron moving about in the vehicle. Police saw an object and determined it was a digital scale. He also had cocaine.
The drug task force found Ebron with a Taser while serving a search warrant Nov. 17 at a home at 255 Locust Ave. The warrant was obtained based on several purchases of narcotics at the home.
While conducting surveillance during the investigation, detectives had seen several men go to the house at 255 Locust, stay for a short period of time and then go to 255 1/2 Locust.
While serving the warrant at 255 Locust, detectives saw several men peeking out of the window at 255 1/2 Locust and trying to leave the residence. The home had been part of the area secured by the Washington Regional SWAT team. The men, including Ebron, were patted down for officer safety. He was found with the Taser.
Ebron, who was convicted in the state of Maryland on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, is not permitted to carry a Taser because of that conviction.
Ebron was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of possessing an electronic incapacitating device, having a prohibitive offensive weapon possessing instruments of a crime, possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for March 20 before Redlinger.
