Man pleads guilty before trial starts

1 min read

A man who was scheduled to stand trial on several charges filed in connection with a Charleroi break-in changed his mind before a jury was sworn in and entered guilty pleas on several counts.

Anthony Lane, 50, whose last address was 426 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, pleaded guilty Tuesday to charges of defiant trespass, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

Judge John DiSalle sentenced Lane to 30 to 60 months imprisonment, followed by two years probation.

He was ordered not to contact the victim of the crime, who lives in the 1100 block of Meadow Avenue, Charleroi, and pay restitution in connection with the March 4, 2012, incident.
