Candidates file for city offices in Washington, Monongahela

1 min read

Despite recent raucous confrontations at City Hall, two incumbents were the only candidates who filed for two open council seats in Washington.

Republican Matt Staniszewski and Democrat Joe Manning are seeking four-year terms.

Staniszewski, running for the third time, is the city’s director of public works, while Manning, a former city fire captain, is director of accounts and finances.

In Monongahela, two council at-large seats are also open. Incumbent Tom Caudill is seeking another term, while Alan J. Veliky also filed for a council seat. Susan M. Bowers, a Democrat, is running for city controller.
