1 min read

• Date: March 12

• Action: Supervisors voted to hire a cost control consultant to oversee the plans for public works building scheduled to be constructed later this year.

• Supervisor Ed Mazur brought up the issue, saying he was disappointed by changes made to the original architectural drawings for the police building now under construction.

The board voted on two separate measures – one to hire David Tarbert of the firm McKenzie and Douglas and a second to enter into a contract with Tarbert at a rate of $165 per hour for a maximum of 10 hours for a total cost of $1,650.

Both motions passed with votes of 3-1. Ed Mazur, Dan Piatt and Tom Moore voted yes on both measures while Jack Keisling offered the lone no vote. Supervisor Robert Koman was absent.

The board also approved moving the township’s proceeds from the local share of money received annually from The Meadows Racetrack & Casino. Treasurer John Stickle was authorized to place $420,000 in proceeds into a certificate of deposit from Slovenian Savings and Loan at an interest rate of 1.95 percent.

• Next meeting: 6:30 p.m. March 26 at the municipal building.
