Man accused of arriving for court intoxicated

1 min read

A Canonsburg man on probation for driving under the influence of alcohol was placed in the Washington County jail Tuesday by a district judge after he allegedly showed up intoxicated for a preliminary hearing.

Kevin Kapustynski, 43, of 160 Locust Ave., was scheduled for a hearing on a theft charge filed Jan. 28 by South Strabane Township police.

Kapustynski was accused of stealing industrial lights from the Washington Auto Mall service area. The auto mall manager told police that the lights had “save” written on them and that no employees had permission to take them. The lights were found outside Kapustynski’s home, police said.

Kapustynski was placed in a program for first-time DUI offenders in September. Weller noted that as a term of his probation, Kapustynski was to refrain from drinking alcohol. Kapustynski was placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
