Man accused of selling heroin
A Charleroi man was arrested Tuesday and placed in the Washington County jail on $100,000 bond on charges he distributed heroin from his home.
District Attorney Gene Vittone announced the arrest of Juana Ricardo Rosado, 44, of 837 Prospect Ave. He was charged with distribution of heroin and marijuana, possession of heroin and marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rosado was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins.
According to Vittone, Rosado’s arrest stemmed from an investigation by state police, the county’s drug task force, the county sheriff’s office, Charleroi Regional Police and the RESA police department.
Charleroi and RESA executed a search warrant on Rosado’s resident early Tuesday morning. Discovered inside, they said, were 59 stamp bags of heroin, three handguns, an undetermined amount of cash, marijuana and drug paraphernalia associated with the distribution of narcotics.
Vittone said the investigation was part of ongoing efforts to fight drug activity, specifically the sale of heroin, in the county.
