Suicide bomber who leveled house was due in court

1 min read

PITTSBURGH (AP) — A man who a coroner says blew himself up in a truck outside a western Pennsylvania residence that was also leveled in the blast was due in court for sentencing at the time.

But 40-year-old Bradley Kollar, of Hastings, skipped his Cambria County Court date Tuesday morning and, instead, caused the explosion in Clearfield Township, about 70 miles east of Pittsburgh.

A news conference is set for Wednesday morning at the state police barracks in Ebensburg, where investigators are trying to determine how and why Kollar caused the blast.

Kollar had pleaded guilty to possessing liquefied ammonia for a purpose other than agricultural or industrial. The chemical was seized during a police raid of his property last March when police say they found what they believed was a clandestine methamphetamine lab.
