• Action: The landscape architectural firm Pashek & Associates was chosen to begin site design work for a proposed new park to be built on a 38-acre plot of land owned by the township on Independence Road.
Supervisors also passed a motion to approve a new sidewalk ordinance. Residents in the township must now keep their sidewalks free of snow. Violators could face a citation.
Supervisors also approved purchasing radios for flagmen in the road department were approved at a cost of $500 and supervisors agreed to purchase a new dump truck for the road crew through the state’s cooperative purchasing program. It will be paid for with the township’s share of gas drilling impact fees.

• Action: The board voted unanimously to approve contributions to two local organizations. North Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department and Citizen’s Library will each receive $10,000 from the township.
The board also approved the renewal of a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit at a cost of $500. The system, operated through the federal Environmental Protection Agency, controls water pollution by regulating water discharges around the country.
Supervisors passed a motion to authorize up to $3,200 for vendor Stereo Outlet to install camera, buzz-in and surveillance systems on the municipal and police buildings.
