Bethel Park road work to resume Monday

1 min read

Work on a $3.9 million project to improve safety and reduce congestion at Broughton and Baptist roads in Bethel Park, Allegheny County, will resume Monday, weather permitting.

Restrictions will begin at about 7 a.m. and continue through mid-October.

The eastbound lanes of Broughton will be closed between Paxton and Sansue drives. A detour will be posted.

Westbound Broughton will remain open between Paxton Drive and Sansue Drive with traffic restricted to a single lane. Baptist Road will remain open at this time.

The project is creating significant mobility improvements for the traveling public at the busy intersection. Work includes reconstructing and widening the intersection to add turning lanes, improved drainage, retaining walls, new traffic signals, curbing and bituminous resurfacing. Overall work will conclude this Fall. The prime contractor is Plum Contracting, Inc. of Greensburg.
