Interstate 79 work planned
Beginning Monday, there will be a single-lane restriction on Interstate 79 southbound between the Racetrack Road and Canonsburg exits so that pavement overlay can take place.
In addition, the southbound off ramp at Houston to Route 519 and the on ramp to I-79 southbound will be closed and detoured intermittently for pavement work.
These restrictions will occur Sunday evenings through Friday mornings between 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.. and will be recurring until early August. Marked detours will be in place for ramp closures throughout the project.
The detour for Route 519 to I-79 southbound will take traffic from Route 519 to I-79 northbound, to the Southpointe/Hendersonville exit. Traffic will turn left onto Southpointe Boulevard and then turn left onto I-79 southbound.
The detour for I-79 southbound to Route 519 takes traffic to the Racetrack Road exit, left onto Racetrack and then left onto I-79 north back to the Houston/Eighty Four exit.
