Motorcyclist dies after Blaine Township crash

A Washington man died after his motorcycle crashed Wednesday night on Route 221 in Blaine Township, state police said. William J. Saccani, 62, was traveling north at the intersection of Rural Valley Road at about 8:30 p.m. when his motorcycle slid across the intersection and came to rest with Saccani still on it. He was flown by medical helicopter to UMPC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh, where he was pronounced dead due to multiple injuries. His blood-alcohol level was .12 percent, above the legal limit at which intoxication is presumed.
