WAYNESBURG – A Waynesburg man who stole two vehicles from Waynesburg Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram pleaded guilty Thursday before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman.

Nathan Ray Herrington, 27, of 291 E. High St., pleaded guilty to two counts each of theft, receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Herrington was sentenced to 3 to 23 1/2 months in jail, fined $750 and ordered to perform 125 hours of community service. He also was required to pay $3,130.18 in restitution.

The car dealership contacted state police Dec. 15 and told them a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado had been stolen from the lot. The dealership later reported a second vehicle, a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am, also was missing.

Police received a tip the Silverado was at the home of Jules Vedis in Graysville. Police found the vehicle at Vedis’ residence. Police said Vedis told them he had purchased the vehicle from Herrington.

Herrington was later arrested in the Grand Am at a home near Kirby. He gave police a statement admitting he had stolen the vehicles from the dealership, police said.
