Mother, daughter wanted in motel fraud
North Franklin Township police are looking for a North Carolina mother and daughter who they say skipped out on a $1,253 bill at a motel.
Josephine Nagy, 74, and Patricia Nagy, 39, both of Enfield, N.C., checked into the Comfort Suites, 2110 N. Franklin Drive, April 20.
Police said the two women gave the night clerk a “sob story” when they checked in, telling the clerk they would have the money for their room May 3.
On Tuesday, a member of the cleaning staff overheard the two women saying they did not have money to pay for the room. The motel manager was then notified.
Township police Sgt. Ron Fox was told by the women that they would contact someone to pay for the room. The two were given some time to make arrangements and handed over the keys to their vehicle. But the women apparently had another set of keys. Police said they skipped out without paying the bill after Fox left to answer a call for a three-vehicle crash.
Fox said the two women were reportedly originally from the Bridgeville area. The two also allegedly have done this at other motels and hotels in the Pittsburgh area.
Anyone with information on the two women or their whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-228-9619.
