Court cases
Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges. Appearing before Judge John DiSalle were:
Leslie A. Dixon, 35, of 31 E. Hallam Ave., Washington; possession of a controlled substance; charged July 11 while walking at Hall and Allison avenues, Washington; sentence – 6 months of probation.
Lindsey M. Fowler, 21, of 4205 Dorsey Lane, Morgantown, W.Va.; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged July 8 following a traffic stop on the Donora-Monessen Bridge; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Andrew J. Veltri Jr., 60, of 174 Courson Hill Road, Amwell Township; terroristic threats; charged Dec. 12 for threatening to destroy his home, and kill a woman and her family; sentence – 2 to 12 months probation, mental health evaluation.
Thomas A. Bush, 23, of 32 Hood St., Brownsville; first offense of driving under the influence of alcohol, simple possession; charged Sept. 15 following a one-vehicle accident on Liberty and Fourth streets, California; sentence – 12 months of probation with the first 1 to 6 months on home monitoring, $1,000 fine, 12-month license suspension.
Jeffrey W. Irwin, 27, of 601 McCrea Ave., Donora; two counts of possession with intent to deliver; charged Nov. 29 by Bentleyville police after adult probation officers found heroin, pills, money and a cellphone on his person; sentence – 6 to 23 months in jail.
Appearing before Judge Gary Gilman was:
Kelley Ciaffoni, 29, of 519 Highland Ave., Canonsburg; criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft; charged for activating gift cards and redeeming them for cash while an employee at Little Caesar’s Pizza, 152 E. Pike St., Canonsburg; sentence – 18 months of probation, restitution to be determined, ordered to have no contact with the restaurant.
Appearing before Judge Edward Borkowski were:
Brian Edward Burgess, 22, of 23 McNary St., Houston; robbery; charged for throwing a manto the ground, choking him and stealing $60 while the two walked along the railroad tracks in Houston on Oct. 16; sentence – 3 to 23 months in jail, $70 restitution.
Morgan S. Watson, 20, of 3136 W. Chestnut St., Washington; theft; charged Dec. 16 for taking a card containing cash from the newspaper box of 779 Weirich Ave., Canton Township; sentence – 6 months of probation, $10 restitution.
Rory A. Kriest, 24, of 20 Old Orchard Lane, Cecil; receiving stolen property; charged with the theft and selling of copper and scrap metal from buildings in various Washington County townships between December 2010 and August 2011; sentence – 2 to 18 months in jail concurrent with federal probation.
John Thomas, 38, of 137 E. Pike St., Canonsburg; unsworn falsification, tampering with records; charged Dec. 15 after he presented a false notice of appeal to law enforcement upon being evicted from his apartment at 136 E. Pike St., Apt. 2, Canonsburg; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Natasha Truxel-Partee, 26, of 10 Main St., Ellsworth; possession of a controlled substance; charged Sept. 4, during a search warrant execution of her home; sentence – 6 to 12 months in jail.
Shawn McDavis, 25, of 258 St. Claire Ave., Apt. 3, Clairton; possession with intent to deliver; charged Nov. 7, following a police search of 812 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi; sentence – 4 to 12 months in jail.
Phillip C. Vogel II, 25, of 145 Irwin Ave., Houston; possession of drug paraphernalia, receiving stolen property; charged July 29, for stealing $650 cash and credit cards from a home at 182 Dogwood St., Westland, and for possession of drug paraphernalia after finding him at 85 First St., Westland, Mt. Pleasant Township; sentence – 12 months of probation.
Michael P. Fowler Jr., 25, of 146 McConnellsville Road, Houston; terroristic threats, delivery of a controlled substance; charged Oct. 19, 2011, for assaulting a person at Motel 6, South Strabane Township, and charged Oct. 21, 2011, for selling crack during in the parking lot at Ridge and Shannon avenues, Washington; sentence – 6 to 23 months in jail with work release, no contact with victim.
