Washington County commissioners

• Action: The board approved a memorandum of understanding and agreement with Washington School District and the Juvenile Probation Department for the Washington Leader Program for a fee of $2,875 per month.
The commissioners OK’d annual agreements with Dominion Voting for election support, $58,660; and software licenses, $26,910.
The board also approved an agreement with Equitrans, L.P., which is moving a natural gas pipeline and transfer station in Mingo Creek County Park.
The county will be advertising for video surveillance cameras and recording devices for the Courthouse Square public areas, including hallways, outside elevators and the parking garage. The system will be paid for with Act 13 gas proceeds. In another security-related matter, the board approved an agreement with A Satellite Communications Co. of Cranberry Township, Butler County, at an amount not to exceed $75,000 for video surveillance, access control and intercom services. The initial fees will be paid from Act 13 funds and the respective departments’ operating budgets.
Aging Services is purchasing a handicapped-accessible 2013 Dodge van at a cost of $42,312 through a state contract.
The board also awarded a contract to EnviroScience of Stow, Ohio, to replace the Cross Creek dam sluice gate at a cost of $150,028, to be paid with oil and gas lease proceeds.
Commissioners also awarded a contract to Lindy Paving of New Galilee, Beaver County, to rehabilitate Taxiway B and make other pavement improvements at Washington County Airport at a base-bid cost of $408,522. If alternate bids are included, the cost could be as high as $925,770.
• Travel: Justin Shawley of the Public Safety Department will attend technical training on emergency call-taking in Redmond, Wash., at a cost of about $1,980.
