County’s Kennywood Day slated

2 min read

Greene County Day at Kennywood Park is scheduled for July 2, and tickets are available in the Waynesburg Area Chamber of Commerce office, 143 E. High St., beginning at 9:30 a.m. today.

The event is being co-sponsored by the chamber and Williams Energy this year.

Williams is an integrated natural gas company focused on exploration and production, midstream gathering and processing, and interstate natural gas transportation primarily in the Rocky Mountains, Gulf Coast, Pacific Northwest, Eastern Seaboard and the Marcellus Shale in Pennsylvania.

The first 200 tickets purchased also will come with $15 in “Fun Money,” which also is being sponsored by Williams. The Fun Money can be used by guests to purchase food, play games and buy souvenirs in the park.

Ticket prices are $25 for a ride-all-day ticket and $25 for a ride-all-day plus bus transportation to and from Kennywood. Williams Energy also has underwritten the cost of the bus transportation this year making it free to ride the buses to and from Kennywood. Bus tickets will be available until the buses are filled.

Buses will leave the Big Lots parking lot at 10 a.m. and will leave Kennywood at 10 p.m. Fireworks will take place in the park at 9 p.m.

Tickets will be on sale at the chamber office until 3 p.m. June 28. No tickets will be available after that time. Tickets and Fun Money are good on other days throughout the 2013 season.

For more information, call the chamber office at 724-627-5926.
