Police beat May 14
Trespass charges: Kevin Claybaugh, 20, of Belle Vernon, will be charged by California police with criminal trespass and public drunkenness after he allegedly entered the home of Gino Egidi, of 529 Second St., without permission and fell asleep in a bedroom early Sunday.
Faces charges: Caleb Lee Sams, 27, of 220 Ketchum Court, North Strabane Township, faces several charges including driving under the influence of alcohol and damage to unattended vehicles stemming from a crash Friday night in the 200 block of North Central Avenue. Sams is accused of hitting a parked motorcycle and another vehicle before hitting items in the yard at 256 N. Central. Police said he was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital, where blood was drawn to determine his blood-alcohol content.
Faces more charges: A 13-year-old girl who lives on South Central Avenue in Canonsburg faces more charges after she was caught by borough police riding her all-terrain vehicle on the road for the second time in two days. Police were called for a report of an ATV on the road on Arch Street. The girl was found riding on Crawford Street. When she saw police, she reportedly backed up at a high speed and fled the wrong way on a one-way street. When police caught up with her, she denied she had been previously stopped by police.
PFA arrest: Jason Mooney, 42, of 413 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg, was arrested Friday on a warrant by Canonsburg police for allegedly violating a protection-from-abuse order obtained by Leslie Dodd. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger and placed in the Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Trespass, disorderly charges: Antonio Heath, 28, of Washington, will be charged by state police with criminal trespass and disorderly conduct after he allegedly was seen connecting an extension cord to a utility pole Saturday at Town and Country Market, 1969 Jefferson Ave., Canton. Police said Heath was wearing only underwear. He also allegedly damaged a sign at the store.
Sign stolen: Coal Center officials are offering a $100 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the person who stole a stop sign Friday from Apple Alley and Federal Street. Anyone with information is asked to call Southwest Regional police at 724-929-8484.
Assault arrest: Daniel J. Rowsick, 59, of 1092 Route 519, North Strabane, was arrested Friday by North Strabane police after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, 47-year-old Janet Pyszka, at their home. He is accused of grabbing her by the neck Friday morning. Police had been called to their home earlier that morning. Rowsick was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was released from the Washington County jail after posting $5,000 bond.
DUI Charge: Donald L. Frazier, 59, of Mars, was charged by North Strabane police with DUI after his pickup truck reportedly crashed into a security vehicle owned by The Meadows Racetrack & Casino in one of the parking garages Friday night. Police said his BAC was double the 0.08 percent limit presumed for intoxication.
Driver injured: Dominick Beton, 82, of 206 Roth St., Houston, was injured Saturday morning when he drove his vehicle into the path of a vehicle driven by Kent Bowman, 64, of 201 Sugar Camp Road, Venetia, at Galley Road and Linden Creek Road, North Strabane police said. Beton was taken to Canonsburg General Hospital for treatment.
Child custody interference: Kinsey L. Dean, 25, of 149 Vaneal Road, South Franklin, was charged with interference with child custody after state police said she took a child from the child’s home about noon Sunday without her guardian’s permission. Police said they found the minor at Dean’s South Franklin home nearly five hours later.
Seeking information: South Strabane police are looking for information on a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash about 1:35 p.m. Saturday in the trafficway adjacent to Long John Silver’s, Washington Mall. The driver of the gray Ford Taurus fled onto Oak Springs Road and Locust Avenue before turning onto Country Club Road. The young white man was wearing a baseball cap. The car would have damage to the front passenger side. It also was leaking fluids. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-225-8111.
Warrant arrest: Daniel Santiago, 24, of 38 W. Walnut St., Washington, was picked up Sunday on a bench warrant while he and three others were in a vehicle at the former PONY Baseball building on Clare Drive. South Strabane police had been checking on a report of a suspicious vehicle.
Theft arrest: Amy Alford, 30, of Reynoldsville, W.Va., was arrested Friday by South Strabane police after she allegedly stole three pairs of earrings valued at $14.24 from Walmart, Trinity Point. She also had suspected drug paraphernalia, police said. Alford was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of retail theft and possession of paraphernalia. She was placed in the Washington County jail on $2,500 bond.
Charges filed: Ryan Kowalski, 35, of Meadowcrest Drive, Cecil, was charged Monday by South Strabane police with retail theft and theft by deception. He is accused of stealing fishing lures from Walmart, Trinity Point, April 28 and returning the items in exchange for a gift card. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Harassment charge: David W. Razmunic, 56, of Jefferson Hills, will be charged by Southwest Regional police with harassment stemming from an alleged road rage incident Friday afternoon in the 2100 block of Rankintown Road, Union. He reportedly got into an altercation with Thomas Powell, 47, of Pittsburgh.
ATV crash: Tyler Minoski, 24, of South Park, was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after his all-terrain vehicle crashed near Courtney Hill Road and Route 43, Union, about 6:40 p.m. Saturday. Witnesses told Southwest Regional police his ATV flipped several times. He was taken to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital for treatment.
Burning violation: Robert Suty, 64, of 6120 Route 88, Union, was charged by Southwest Regional police for a burning violation after allegedly leaving a fire unattended May 6. The fire then spread, and firefighters from Finleyville and Elrama responded. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge James Ellis.
Assault charge: Dustin S. Phillips, 30, of 62 W. Hallam Ave., Washington, was charged with simple assault after city police said he hit his girlfriend in the face shortly before 1 a.m. Monday while they were driving. Police said they found the couple in the Walgreens parking lot on Jefferson Avenue. They said the woman suffered bruises and swelling to her face.
Restaurant cited: The operators of the South Side restaurant, 152 S. Main St., Washington, face a citation from the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for allegedly serving a 19-year-old an alcoholic beverage March 26.
