Firefighters douse blaze at Beaver County Airport

1 min read

BEAVER FALLS (AP) – Firefighters from at least eight companies have a blaze under control at a Western Pennsylvania county airport hangar.

The cause of the blaze at the Beaver County Airport wasn’t immediately clear. The facility is about 30 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.

County 911 dispatchers say the fire was reported at 2:49 a.m. Tuesday. The fire was reported to be under control four hours later, but crews were still on the scene and it was unclear how long they would remain.

No injuries have been reported, although airplane fuel and other items store in the facility created the potential for a larger disaster.
