North Franklin Twp. appoints supervisor
North Franklin Township Board members appointed Alex Migyanko as the new township supervisor Wednesday.
Migyanko will fill the seat vacated by former board chairman Jim Juff, who resigned on April 23 citing health reasons. Migyanko, who is chairman of the township planning commission, will serve until the end of the year.
Supervisor Dennis Dydiw made the motion to appoint Migyanko, and Silvio Passalacqua seconded.
Migyanko also has been serving as business manager in an advisory capacity since the board fired the township’s business manager, Bill Boucher.
Also Wednesday, supervisors dropped plans to implement the Department of Community and Economic Development’s Early Intervention Program, which is designed to help financially troubled municipalities develop and implement a multiyear financial management plan.
