Venetia man accused of child endangerment

1 min read

A Venetia man was charged May 7 with endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment and harassment for an incident Peters Township police said occurred April 9 in his home at 306 Abby Brook Lane.

Kenneth James Dupre, 47, allegedly dropped his fiancee’s 14-month-old son from about four feet off the floor. Witnesses told police Dupre “purposefully” dropped the boy. The toddler fell onto the carpet, striking his buttocks before rolling backward and striking his head, police said. There was no indication the boy required medical treatment.

After the incident, police said Dupre went outside and assaulted his fiancee, Amy Walsh.

A hearing is scheduled before District Judge James Ellis at 1:15 p.m. June 4.
