Man sought in slaying of Pa. student arrested
SCRANTON (AP) – Authorities say a man being sought in the slaying of a college student in northeastern Pennsylvania was taken into custody in New York state.
The (Scranton) Times-Tribune said the U.S. Marshals Service reported a task force tracked 18-year-old Ryan Harding to the Syracuse, N.Y. area.
U.S. Marshal Martin Pane said Harding fled when authorities approached but was captured Tuesday night after a two-hour foot chase and search through an apartment complex.
Harding was being sought in the shooting death of 22-year-old Lackawanna College student Rahsan Crowder after a May 5 argument near the school’s campus.
He is charged in Lackawanna County with first- and third-degree murder, aggravated assault and a weapons charge.
Another man, Marlon Clotter, was arrested earlier and charged in the case.
