• Action: The school board voted to approved several change orders made during renovations at the Washington Park school building. Additional work totaling $38,666 was approved for changes to conduit and piping work. Superintendent Roberta DiLorenzo said the work at the school building was meant to improve infrastructure at the building.
A five-year contract was ratified between the school district and union representing support staff. The contract runs retroactively from 2012 through 2018 and will provide roughly 3 percent raises. Teachers and support staffers took a pay freeze last school year during contract negotiations. The teachers’ contract was ratified at an April meeting.

• Action: Township managers voted to approve a new contract with Live Nation, the promotion company that operates the First Niagara Pavilion. Live Nation approved a 3 percent increase in wages paid to township employees contracted to work at events, mostly in the farm of police and other emergency personnel. The township’s reimbursement rate for police cars rose from $110 to $115 and Live Nation will pay overtime costs for any calendar week with more than six events.
A construction permit was issued to Starpointe, a business park located at the intersection of Routes 18 and 22. A tax abatement was also approved for a warehouse on Airport Road owned by Andy Miller.
Two township police officers, Matt Shaffer and Eric Cain, were promoted from training to probationary status and eight seasonal officers were hired for the 2013 concert season.

• Date: May 14
• Action: The township unanimously approved a motion to accept responsibility for the construction of an access road to the site of a temporary bridge near the municipal building. The bridge will serve as a detour for the roughly two months it will take county crews to replace the Clark Avenue Bridge.
