Wanted Washington man apprehended

A Washington man wanted for allegedly kidnapping his estranged girlfriend outside the LeMoyne Center in East Washington last month was apprehended early Wednesday during a sweep by the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force.

Avery Lloyd Turner, 22, of Washington, was found inside a room at the Ramada Inn, North Franklin Township. East Washington police obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges including kidnapping and unlawful restraint after he allegedly kidnapped his 22-year-old former girlfriend on April 8.

Turner had been in a halfway house in Pittsburgh after serving time on robbery charges.

He was also wanted by Washington police on a charge of aggravated assault for putting a knife to the same woman’s throat April 17 in Lincoln Terrace.
