WAYNESBURG – Nine criminal defendants pleaded guilty this week before Greene County Judge Farley Toothman.
Antoine Lee Johnson, 27, of Pittsburgh; offenses – possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia; Feb. 29, 2012, state police served a search warrant at an apartment Grandview Avenue, Franklin Township and found 722 stamp bags of heroin, cash and drug paraphernalia; Johnson and two others were in the apartment; sentence – Johnson entered an open plea and will be sentenced following preparation of a pre-sentence report.
William Eugene Gossett, 57, of 129-A Nemacolin Way, Carmichaels; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense and five summary traffic violations; Gossett was arrested Dec. 3 and had a blood-alcohol level of 0.168 percent; sentence – Gossett will be sentenced following preparation of a pre-sentence report.
William Leslie Britt Jr., 31, of 211 Inwood Ave., Carmichaels; offenses – DUI, second offense and two summary traffic violations; arrested Dec. 23, Britt had a 0.223 percent BAC; Britt will be sentenced following preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Gage Paul Griffin, 19, of 83 Main St., Smithfield; offenses – DUI, alcohol; DUI, controlled substance; fleeing or attempting to elude police and three summary traffic violations; on Jan. 12, Griffin failed to stop his vehicle for police in Waynesburg; he pulled in front of a police car causing a crash; Griffin had a 0.177 percent BAC; he tested positive for marijuana use; sentence – 10 days to 5 years in jail, $2,100 in fines, 225 hours of community service and $4,126.93 in restitution. He was given credit for time served.
William J. Kuhn, 32, of 1392 Jefferson Road, Jefferson; offenses – forgery, theft, access device fraud; between Jan. 25 and 27, he used his mother’s ATM card for three transactions totaling $215.40; sentence – five years of probation, $250 in fines, 50 hours of community service.
Joshua Luther Thrasher, 24, of 2671 Rohr Road, Masontown; offense – retail theft; on Jan. 29, Thrasher and another man attempted to leave the Walmart Store in Franklin Township with a shopping cart containing $1,567 in merchandise without paying; sentence – 10 days to 23 ½ months in jail, $500 fine, 75 hours of community service. He was given credit for time served, which was 10 days.
Levi James Craggs, 64, of 139 Second St., Clarksville; offense – indecent exposure; on Nov. 4, Craggs exposed himself to motorists on Route 88 in the area of Greene County Hill; sentence – two years of probation, $500 fine, 50 hours of community service, mental health assessment.
Michael Travis Hodgson, 25, of 107 Bliss Ave., Nemacolin; offense – receiving stolen property; on Dec. 19, he and another man were arrested with items that had been stolen from a truck in Waynesburg; sentence – 30 days to 1 year in jail, $300 fine, 225 hours of community service.
Nathan R. Ankrom, 30, of 103 Deerbrook Lane, Waynesburg; offenses – DUI, controlled substance and a summary traffic violation; arrested May 18, 2012, after his vehicle rear-ended another vehicle on Route 19, Ankrom tested positive for marijuana and heroin use; sentence – 90 days to 3 years in jail, $1,525 in fines; Ankrom was given credit for 90 days served in in-patient treatment.
