Erica Johnson salutatorian

JEFFERSON – Jefferson-Morgan High School will hold commencement at 7 p.m. May 31 in the school auditorium for 63 members of the Senior Class of 2013.

Ashley Faddis will deliver the valedictorian’s address, and Erica Johnson will deliver the salutatorian’s address.

Faddis’ address topic is The Past, while Johnson will speak on The Future.

Faddis, daughter of Tim and Melissa Faddis of Dry Tavern, and Scot and Lisa Moore of Waynesburg, will attend Penn State University’s main campus and major in pre-dentistry.

She was president of National Honor Society, student council, Leo club, Students Against Drunk Driving and Youth Traffic Safety. She was also a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters, debate team, Academic Team, foreign language club and the drama club. She was captain of the varsity volleyball team and captain of the varsity basketball team.

She received several awards, including the Robert and E. Titus Educational Award, Lions Club Student of the Month award and Tri-Cada Athletic Scholarship.

Johnson, daughter of Jay and Anjie Johnson of Clarksville, will attend California University of Pennsylvania and major in elementary education.

She was a member of marching band, color guard, chorus and foreign language club. She was also a part of concert band and county chorus and volunteered at Greene County Humane Society.

She received several awards, including Lions Club Student of the Month award, the Academic Challenge award and the California University Institution Scholarship.
