Items stolen: Several items were reported stolen in a burglary at 47 Haines Road Friday morning. State police said John I. Harshman, 68, and Bessie R. Harshman, 69, both of Washington, and Grace M. Anderson, 74, of Mobile, Ala., reported jewelry, a jewelry box, a traveling bag with prescription medication and a camera battery charger stolen. Police said a rear door to the residence was forced open between 9 a.m. and noon that day.

Charges pending: Justin Shane Pirillo, 21, of Avella, faces numerous charges after state police said he accelerated his vehicle on Route 231 in an attempt to elude them early Saturday morning. Police said Pirillo ignored troopers emergency lights and sirens and crashed his vehicle on Deer Lane. He fled on foot but eventually was taken into custody. Police said Pirillo appeared to be intoxicated and had drug paraphernalia on him and in his vehicle. Charges will be filed with District Judge Ethan Ward.

Charged with DUI: Joel Stephen Schreiner, 26, of Avella, was charged with driving under the influence and hit-and-run stemming from an accident in the 100 block of Shades of Death Road. State police said Schreiner fled the accident at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Charges were filed with District Judge Gary Havelka.

Chop saw stolen: Raymond Langston Hall, of Jefferson, told police 100 feet of welding leads, a steel chop saw and a metal grinder were stolen from 1109 Jefferson Road between May 16 and May 19. State police in Waynesburg are investigating the theft.

Two injured: A motorcycle crash in the 200 block of Main Street in New Eagle sent two people to Pittsburgh hospitals Saturday night. The accident occurred about 10 p.m. when the bike crashed into a wall. A 911 supervisor said two medical helicopters were called to transport the injured to the hospital. Neither person was identified and Monongahela police could not be reached Sunday for additional information.

One hurt: One person was injured and a tractor-trailer driver was cited following a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 70 West at the 19A interchange Friday. State police said Jeffrey D. Lipinski, 38, of Hickory was transported to UPMC-Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh for an unknown injury. Lipinski’s vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer operated by George R. Wargo, 52, of Avella. Police said a tractor-trailer operated by Isaiah D. Males, 22, of Ohio, slowed to stop for a vehicle in the right lane when Wargo’s truck struck the rear of Lipinski’s vehicle pushing it into the Males’ vehicle.
