S. Strabane man dies in crash
A South Strabane Township man died Saturday night or Sunday morning from multiple injuries after he was thrown from his motorcycle on Weaver School Road in West Bethlehem Township.
Victor J. Brova, 56, of 923 E. Beau St., was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:17 a.m. The accident is believed to have occured between 8 p.m. Saturday and 6:50 a.m. Sunday, less than 200 feet west of where Weaver School Road intersects Wilson Road.
Brova was found by a family friend after a search of the area.
According to Washington County Coroner Tim Warco, Brova was the sole occupant of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling north on the road. As the vehicle came through a slight left bend, Brova lost control of the bike and it went off the road, traveled 90 feet, struck a ditch and then traveled another 51 feet before coming to rest in a grassy area.
Following an autopsy, Warco ruled Brova’s death accidental. Brova was wearing a motorcycle helmet at the time of the accident, according to state police, who are investigating.
